I just have to be honest. This was one shoot that I was extremely excited about. I was so excited to be shooting for something that is so relevant to the culture here in southern Louisiana. If I would be from anywhere else I probably would have thought it would have been interesting, but this particular job was truly an honor to be a part of. Everyone at The Best Stop was so welcoming. No matter how much I may have gotten in the way they were more than happy to accommodate me. These guys are working on a new website and will have online ordering available soon. These images were commissioned specifically for that purpose. Hungry yet? Anyway… I just wanted to share a few of the images from that day.
Enjoy!

I can totally appreciate this. I hope you got some samples. I’m starving for some of that boudin now. Great work Jamie!!
-
I threatened him not to take boudin for pay…I knew he was contemplating it and we would have had boudin for years!!
-
Will Work for Boudin!!! If I could trade jewelry for boudin, I would do it. Heck Yes.
-
Hey I just traded design work for free daycare. When daycare runs 1,200 per month it wasn’t that hard of a decision. Great shots, are you working on some new design work with them?
-
@Kyle They have another company working on design.

I can’t remember if I’ve posted this video or not, but I wanted to share it either way. It is a cool stop motion video about a love story. Most of the shots were filmed with a Sony HVR V1 and he also used a Nikon D70s. I just love the direction and the styling of this short film. Hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

I’ve been listening to Scott Hansen‘s music as Tycho for some time now. It’s been a little while since he has releaced a new album so as you can imagine… I am really excited about this next release. I’m not sure exactly when he will be releasing it, but I guarantee that it will be noting short of amazing. Not only is this guy an amazing musician he is also an amazing graphic artist. Below are a few images of his work, but go check him out HERE.

I had the opportunity to work on another project several months back with Crucé Design for Bayou Teche Brewing. Bayou Teche Biere is distributed by Schilling Distributing. For the project I did the initial design of the website interface along with all of the photography. Crucé took the reins and put on a few final touches and coded the rest of the site. It’s always nice to see a website go live because it is a lengthy process if you are going to do it right. Here are a few images of both the site and photography that I’ve done for this project.
You can visit their website by clicking the link here: http://BayouTecheBrewing.com

Looks hot dude. I was just thinking yesterday how I wished I lived in your vicinity and could work as one of your “assistants” :D

[...] amazing imagery of their beer, the brewery, and the brothers themselves. Check out more of his work here. I collaborated with Jamie on design and the site really shows a strong connection to their [...]

It was cool to see your face light up last night when I pulled out that six pack of LA 31 while we were visiting. So I know you really like their beer, not just because they hired you, but because I saw how quick they went down!
The last picture is by far my favorite. I love how the green label stands out in front of the yellowish/brown and orange colors of the bottle. All natural light, or did you add something else?
-
Thanks guys! I appreciate the props. The shoot was really fun. I’m pretty sure that shot was all natural light with the 50mm 1.4 ;)

wow! really amazing work! some of your best yet!!

Wow man! Thanks! These clients were awesome. Their beer seems to be selling out all over the state too.

So many people have been asking me what my deal has been lately with all the CRUSH IT! talk. Well… The best way for me to explain it is to show you.
This is taken straight from the About The Book page of Gary Vaynerchuk‘s book CRUSH IT! Now you can see for yourself.

Myth #1
I’m not passionate about something sexy or popular like wine so these lessons don’t apply to me.
The internet has drastically decreased the costs of building communities around niche subjects, allowing for even the most obscure subjects to draw enough eyeballs to command advertising attention. Starting a video blog about tortilla chips may seem farfetched until Doritos gives you a call and offers 40,000 a year to sponsor and advertise on your blog.
Myth #2
My business already has a Twitter account and a Facebook page, we’re set in the social media department.
This is the equivalent of claiming twenty years ago that just because your business bought a TV spot and a few ads in the newspaper, you didn’t need to pay attention to your advertising department. Social media isn’t about joining in, it’s about being involved.
Myth #3
I’m happy at my job so this book is irrelevant to me.
First of all, congratulations on finding work that makes you happy! However, the lessons in this book are valuable to anyone, regardless of their employment status. Crush It will show you how to utilize high level and platform specific social media and marketing strategies that will improve your work. It will also show you how to build a personal brand so that even if you’re forced to leave your job, a situation that’s especially relevant today, you’ll be able to easily find employment elsewhere in a field you’re passionate about.
Myth #4
I need to quit my job to take advantage of this book’s entrepreneurial lessons.
While the entrepreneurial strategies in this book do take time, it’s completely reasonable to start the effort as an after-work project to build up until you’re able to replace your current income with the income from your online presence. While you may have to fall behind on the current season of Lost or let your Madden 2010 game suffer, because you’ll be doing something you love you won’t mind putting in the extra effort.
In Crush It, Gary Vaynerchuk shows how anyone can build a career around what they’re passionate about. He also delivers both high-level and platform specific strategy and analysis, allowing you to take advantage of the current business environment while preparing you to succeed as it changes and evolves.
This book isn’t interested in making unrealistic promises while glossing over the work involved. Making a living by building content around your passion isn’t simple and it doesn’t happen overnight. What it is, however, is fulfilling and in most cases just as profitable, if not more so, than your previous job.
Furthermore, a business can’t just pay lip service to social media and expect it to return results. The transparency and accountability inherent in its structure necessitates a comprehensive and dedicated strategy in order to reap its tremendous benefits.
By combining practical analysis and strategy with the same passion and humor that’s made Gary one of the most in demand keynote speakers in the U.S. as well as network television’s go to wine expert, Crush It is essential reading for anyone who wants to understand and harness the future of business and work.

I had so many little wonderful experiences while I was in the Bahamas. One of the best parts was meeting and visiting with the locals. This gentleman was running a fruit stand with so many great native fruits. We must have spent 45 minutes just visiting and trying diffrent fruit. It was here that I was first introduced to “sugar apples”. I’m not one to really try crazy things, but it was really good. I can still imagine the unique taste. Anyway… Here are a few shots.
Enjoy!
